Senator Moises Denis

Senator Moises (Mo) Denis represents Nevada’s 2nd Senate District which includes downtown Las Vegas and downtown North Las Vegas.

He has worked in his community for over two decades serving in the Nevada Senate since 2010 and as Majority Leader from 2012-2014. Currently he serves as Senate President Pro Tempore and Chair of Senate Education. Prior to being elected to the Senate, he was a member of the Nevada Assembly from 2004 to 2010.

In his legislative career he has served on various committees including Education, Finance, Commerce and Labor, Transportation, Revenue, and Judiciary.

Locally Mo serves on the Board of North Vista Hospital, Las Vegas Area Council of the Boy Scouts, and Easter Seals Nevada. He also is past president of the Nevada PTA and past chair of the Nevada Commission on Educational Technology.

Mo is the son of immigrant parents from Cuba and was born in Brooklyn, NY but moved to Las Vegas when he was a young child.

Moving back to Nevada after college, he worked in computer technology for the Public Utilities Commission of Nevada and now works as a Realtor in the private sector.

Senator Dennis continues to fight for the betterment of his community and constituents. He attended local schools and graduated from Rancho High School. Mo also has a BA in Music from Brigham Young University. He is an eagle scout. He loves to perform music, spend time in the outdoors, play sports, and to give service in his church and the community. Mo and his wife of 35 years Susan have 5 children, 4 grandsons.
